Alpena Fire Department puts out structure fire on Brooke Street
The Alpena Fire Department was requested for a structure fire at a residence at 231 N Brooke Street on Friday, according to a press release. Upon arrival, crews identified the fire was in an attached garage of a single-story, ranch-style house. An initial attack was made by personnel and the fire was contained to the garage with no extension into the residence. A closed door between the garage and house aided in blocking the fire from spreading into the residence.
Seven on-duty personnel and the Deputy Chief made the initial response with 10 off-duty personnel and three auxiliary personnel being called in to support operations.
MyMichigan Medical Center Alpena EMS and Alpena Township Fire Department assisted with an EMS response during operations as a mutual aid request.
Alpena City Police Department, Alpena Power, DTE Energy, and Alpena County Central Dispatch also assisted.
One occupant was taken to MyMichigan Medical Center Alpena for evaluation due to smoke inhalation while trying to get pets out of the residence.
No injuries were reported.
