The Alpena Community Credit Union installed and dedicated a little free library on Credit Union Kind Day last week.

Credit Union Kind Day is an event that is organized by the Michigan Credit Union League (MCUL) in partnership with the Michigan Credit Union Foundation (MCUF) and it aims to showcase community service efforts through volunteering, donations, and local outreach.

To participate, ACCU received a grant from the MCUF for $1,000 to help with the Kind Day activities and purchased the Library that was installed on Oct.13 in front of the credit union!

The local credit union also purchased an assortment of money themed books for kids and adults, as well as budget planners to kickstart the small library.

AACU has also partnered with the Alpena County Library to help maintain the stock the the small library.

The intent of the little library is to enhance the local community with another wonderful resource and to promote the sharing of financial literacy materials.
