US-23 detour in Alpena next week for maintenance
ALPENA — The Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) will be adjusting manhole covers on U.S.-23 (State Avenue) between Ripley Boulevard and Chisholm Street in Alpena, requiring a detour for through-traffic, starting on Monday and expected to end by Wednesday.
This work will require a detour for U.S.-23 through-traffic between Ripley Boulevard and Chisholm Street via Ripley Boulevard and M-32 (Washington Avenue). Access to local businesses and residences will be maintained.
This project will improve the ride quality of the roadway, according to an MDOT press release.
