ALPENA — Kenna Mousseau and Anna Leddy of Girl Scout Troop 1033 did a presentation to the Alpena County Board of Commissioners on Aug. 12.

Alpena County Sheriff’s Office Deputy Michelle Reid is one of the advisers for the Silver Award.

The Scouts handed out information sheets about their project and did a verbal presentation to the Board of Commissioners. A Rainbow Bridge is what Kenna and Anna want to build at the Alpena County Fairgrounds. This will be a place where people can honor their deceased pets. Larry Mousseau, a retired contractor, is the other advisor for the project. The wood being used to build the bridge is recycled from downed trees during the ice storm.

The Alpena County Board of Commisioners approved the project and construction will begin soon.
