APS adds new college advisor for Alpena High School and ACES Academy

Christi Schultz
A new college adviser, Christi Schultz, is being welcomed next week at Alpena High School and ACES Academy, through Michigan College Access Network’s program called Advise MI, according to a Tuesday press release from Alpena Public Schools.
Schultz returns to AHS with a strong track record of success working with students and families during the time she taught there. Schultz will work at helping more students navigate the process of pursuing training and education after high school. She will guide students and their families as they select where to go next, assist with applications and help with scholarships and financial aid.
AHS and ACES have been Advise MI partner schools for 10 years. Advise MI places college advisers to work alongside counselors and other school staff to support students as they make the transition from high school to postsecondary education and training.
