July 21

10:23 a.m. A gas line was hit during some excavating in Avery Township. Tri Township Fire responded to the scene, PIE&G responded to repair the line.

12:59 p.m. An officer was requested to a church in Lewiston due to an unruly subject inside the church that wouldn’t leave. While the deputy was on route the subject left the area.

6:02 p.m. A resident in Midland County was transferred to MCSO in reference to a welfare check in Albert Township. A deputy went to the residence and found all subjects safe and okay.

July 22

5:39 a.m. An erratic driver was reporting in Montmorency Township. The driver was located and a traffic stop was conducted. Deputies found it was a road rage incident between both the complainant and the driver, all parties cleared without incident.

8:47 a.m. Briley Township DPW Supervisor called to report vandalism in Briley Park. A picnic table was damaged beyond use.

12:51 p.m. A vehicle fire was reported in Hillman Township. Hillman and Tri Township Fire Departments responded to the scene.

1:43 p.m. While on routine patrol a deputy came upon a vehicle on fire in Montmorency Township; the deputy put the fire out and Hillman Fire responded to the scene to make sure it was fully extinguished.

9:37 p.m. A conservation officer made a traffic stop in Albert Township. After an investigation, one male was arrested for felony forgery, felony CCW, possession of a firearm white committing a felony, and impersonating a public agent. The male was lodged at ACJ.

July 23

6:55 p.m. Deputies responded to a dispute in Hillman Township; once on scene deputies spoke with both parties and they separated for the night.

8:45 p.m. Dispatch received reports of a side-by-side roll over in Briley Township; deputies and Tri-Township EMS responded but were UTL on the vehicle, after noticing fresh tracks of where the ORV had been flipped back over and drove off.

July 24

7:10 a.m. A deputy picked up a stray dog in Briley Township and transported it to the Elk Country Animal Shelter.

4:21 p.m. Tri-Township Fire Department responded to a tree on a live powerline in Loud Township; once on scene the fire department put the flame out and PIE&G was contacted to repair the broken line and get the tree off the live line.

July 25

2:35 p.m. Wolverine Power called to report they will have their helo up in the air next week assessing damage to their lines. It is a black and white helo.

8:09 p.m. A 911 transferred from Otsego reported a vehicle throwing beer cans at another driver.

8:17 p.m. A male subject in Albert Township requested law enforcement. He was moving out of a residence and stated the property owner was not letting him take his snowmobile. A deputy and DNR responded to the scene, it was found that the male was the driver from the previous complaint. The male was trespassed from the property.

July 26

12:39 a.m. Fortress security reported the front door and main motion alarm going off at a business in Albert Township. A deputy responded and found the building secure.

8:24 a.m. A commercial fire alarm was reported in Albert Township. Albert Township Fire Department responded to the scene, it was found to be a false alarm due to a power outage.

1:11 p.m. A two vehicle crash was reported in the Village of Hillman. An MCSO deputy, MSP Trooper, Hillman Fire and EMS all responded to the scene. No injuries were reported. A report was taken and all units cleared the scene.

4:07 p.m. A property line dispute in Albert Township was called in. Deputies responded to the residence to diffuse the situation.

6:19 p.m. A deputy responded to a dog at large in Montmorency Township. The owners of the dog were found and agreed to keep the dog on a leash

8:39 p.m. Multiple reports of a male on a bicycle in the roadway were made in Avery Township. A deputy responded and spoke with the male.

10:05 p.m. A resident in Briley Township came home to a male subject in her yard. She spoke with him but called the MCSO concerned. The male was issued a trespass warning.

July 27

12:02 p.m. A resident of Briley Township called to request the fire department due to his smoke alarms going off and he is unable to get them to shut off. Tri Township Fire Department responded to the residence.

12:51 p.m. A verbal dispute in Hillman Township was reported to dispatch. An MCSO deputy and MSP Trooper responded to the residence. They spoke with both parties involved and cleared without incident.

2:09 p.m. Multiple 911 calls came into dispatch to report a building on fire in Vienna Township. No one was inside the building. Vienna Fire, Tri Township Fire and EMS, Albert Township Fire, MCSO deputies and an MSP Trooper all responded to the scene. The building was a complete loss.

7:31 p.m. MCSO dispatch received a crash notification from a phone in Briley Township. Deputies responded to the area and found the owner of the phone. The phone was on top of a vehicle and fell off.

7:47 p.m. Deputies and MSP responded to a verbal dispute in Briley Township, upon arrival it was found the dispute was a misunderstanding. All LE cleared without incident.
