Aug. 11

12:50 a.m. An Oscoda County deputy conducted a traffic stop on a male with a warrant out of MCSO. A deputy met the Oscoda deputy at the county line and the male was transferred to ACJ.

7:17 p.m. A deputy responded to a welfare check in Briley Township; the deputy spoke with the subject and found them to be okay.

Aug. 12

4:53 p.m. A deputy responded to a call about a highly intoxicated male in Briley Township; the subject was taken in custody and transported to Alpena County Jail.

Aug. 13

2:18 p.m. Just a reminder, there are many scams out there. Do not give your personal information out over the phone. If someone wants to deposit money in your account or if you feel like anything is strange about a request made by someone over the phone contact the MCSO and ask someone for advice as to whether it is a legit phone call.

8:01 p.m. Deputies responded to a physical altercation at a residence in Hillman Township. All parties were separated and it was deemed as mutual combat.

9:29 p.m. A deputy made a traffic stop in Briley Township on a vehicle without a plate. It was found the vehicle had no insurance/expired registration and the owner had a confirmed warrant in Otsego County. A deputy transported the male to the county line and custody was transferred to an Otsego deputy.

Aug. 14

11:00 a.m. Multiple 911 calls came into dispatch to report a two-vehicle crash in Hillman Township. MCSO deputies, Hillman Fire and EMS all responded to the scene. The driver of one vehicle was transported to the hospital for her injuries.

5:55 p.m. A resident in Albert Township reported a male on a 4-wheeler driving erratically. A deputy was advised and responded to the area but was unable to locate the driver.

Aug. 15

7:04 a.m. Deputies responded to a residence to pick up a stray dog, the dog was brought into Elk County Animal Shelter.

10:05 p.m. A vehicle deer accident was reported in Hillman Township; a report was taken.

Aug. 16

4:41 a.m. A deputy responded to a commercial intrusion alarm in Albert Township; the deputy arrived at the business and confirmed that the building was secure before clearing.

7:23 p.m. Hillman Fire Department and PIE&G responded to reports of a tree on a power line that had caught fire. Once on scene the fire department confirmed a tree had fallen on the pole but was no longer on fire, all units cleared the scene once PIE&G arrived on scene.

Aug. 17

10:40 p.m. Dispatch received multiple calls involving an erratic driver circling the block for 20 minutes. MSP, DNR, and a MCSO deputy responded to the area and located the subject. A 20 year old male was arrested and lodged at ACJ for OWI and CCW.

11:56 p.m. Deputies responded to a residence in Vienna Township for a report of at least 40 gunshots. The deputies were unable to hear any gunshots.
