Beginning today, the Bay View parking lot will be closed from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. to ensure the safety of the community and the contractor working in that area, according to a press release from the City of Alpena.

Barricades will be present during those times.

All courts at the Bay View Sportsplex will remain open. However, the City asks that community members park in other areas until work is completed.

It is anticipated that the parking lot will remain closed through Friday unless construction or weather delays occur.
