Taylor preliminary examination waived, count one dismissed

ALPENA — Dylan Taylor, 29, appeared in the 88th District court in Alpena on Wednesday for one count of computers/internet communication with another to commit a crime and one count of children — accosting for immoral purposes.

Taylor was scheduled for a preliminary examination, but chose to waive it. Attorney Rick Steiger represented Taylor, and Judge Alan Curtis presided.

Steiger informed the judge that he and Assistant Prosecuting Attorney Alyssa Miller had reached an agreement to dismiss count one and bind count two over to Circuit Court.

A letter from Taylor’s ex-wife was given to Judge Curtis. The letter indicated that she would be OK with allowing Taylor to see his two minor children under the supervision of herself or her boyfriend as a modification to Taylor’s bond.

Judge Curtis agreed to the modification, allowing Taylor to have contact with his children under supervision. Curtis added that Taylor needs to remain in eyesight of the supervisor.

Taylor’s next court date will be an arraignment on count two, children — accosting for immoral purpose, in the 26th Circuit court in Alpena.
