On the Job, Under the Influence program Wednesday
On the Job, Under the Influence, a program exploring the impact and outcomes of drugs and alcohol in the workplace, will be held in two sessions on Wednesday at Alpena Community College.
The first session is for ESI clients only, from 8 to 10:30 a.m., and the second session is from 12:30 to 3 p.m., open to the public, in the Fitzpatrick Lecture Hall at Van Lare Hall, 665 Johnson St., Alpena.
This program, presented by the Center for Competency Development, is free, thanks to the generosity of the Economic Generator Network.
Trainers include Michigan State Police Trooper Jason Kunath and HR Trainer and Attorney Lou Rabaut.
This interactive workshop will provide essential education on the impact of drugs and alcohol in the workplace. Participants will explore how substance use can affect safety, productivity, team dynamics, and organizational culture. This session covers the signs and symptoms of substance misuse, the importance of early intervention, and legal considerations for employees and employers. Attendees will also learn about available resources and expectations of employees when interacting with someone they suspect may be under the influence. This program is designed for leaders, managers, HR professionals, and general team members.
