Judge David Riffel and Judge Laura Frawley of the 23rd Circuit Court are pleased to announce the appointment of Elizabeth Reed as Alcona County’s new prosecuting attorney, according to an email Reed has been a resident of Alcona County for the last four years and brings with her 20 years of experience as a prosecutor. The appointment is effective Sept. 1 upon the retirement of Prosecuting Attorney Thomas Weichel, who has served Alcona for nearly 33 years with distinction and honor. Weichel joins Judge Riffel and Judge Frawley in welcoming Reed, and they are confident she will serve Alcona County well.
