The Charter Township of Alpena’s latest utility bills (water and sewer) were mistakenly calculated by the Township’s utility billing software vendor using an estimate of three months of usage, rather than the appropriate period of one month of usage, a press release from the Township stated on Monday. The bills will be corrected and recalculated on a one-month basis, thereby lowering the amount due. Customers should disregard the current bill and will be given a corrected replacement bill.
