The Alpena Community College community was shocked and saddened by the sudden passing of longtime employee Kathy Vought on Wednesday, July 23. Vought worked in the Registrar’s Office where she connected with numerous students for the past 30 years.

Alpena Community College will close at 1 p.m. today to allow ACC employees to attend the memorial visitation scheduled for 2 to 8 p.m. at Bannan Funeral Home in Alpena. ACC will reopen for normal business on Wednesday.

Additionally, ACC employees will be allowed to attend Vought’s funeral service at 11 a.m. on Wednesday at St. Anne Church of All Saints Catholic Parish and return to work afterward. The college will remain open. Some staff will not be available between 10:30 a.m. and 1 p.m. on Wednesday during the service. Anyone with plans to conduct business at the college during that time should please call ahead to confirm staff availability.
