Atlanta man arrested for delivery of methamphetamine

On Monday at approximately 6:55 p.m., troopers from the Michigan State Police (MSP) Alpena Post stopped a vehicle for a traffic violation on M-33 Hwy. near Steiner Rd. in Clinton Twp. The preliminary investigation indicates that the driver had a suspended driver’s license. Troopers conducted an inventory search and located a bag of needles and suspected methamphetamine inside the vehicle.

A 40-year-old man from Atlanta was lodged at the Oscoda County Jail for the suspected narcotics found during the traffic stop. The man was arraigned on Tuesday in the 81st District Court in Oscoda County on one count of Delivery/Manufacturing of Methamphetamine and one count of Operating – License Suspended, Revoked, or Denied. His preliminary examination is scheduled for 1 p.m. on June 12.

Rogers City Parks and Recreation Commission to meet Thursday

The City of Rogers City Parks and Recreation Commission will be meeting Thursday at 8 a.m. at 193 E. Michigan Avenue in Rogers City. There will be a chance for citizens to speak during the meeting. Any of the public wishing to attend the meeting must do so in person or remotely via zoom. Instructions for how to attend the meeting via Zoom will be posted at the city’s website, www.rogerscity.com.
