ALPENA — Alpena Community Credit Union, a member of the Federal Home Loan Bank of Indianapolis, recently awarded PACE Northeast Michigan $27,500 in grant funds through the Community Multiplier – Member Match Program.

The $27,500 grant will support PACE Northeast Michigan’s initiative to provide comprehensive health services and supportive care to elderly residents in Northeast Michigan, helping them remain independent and avoid premature nursing home placements.

“We are incredibly grateful for FHLBank Indianapolis to provide an avenue to support community partners like PACE Northeast Michigan and their initiative to provide elderly residents with the care and assistance they need to remain independent,” said Andrew Augustyn, Chief Operations Officer at Alpena Community Credit Union. “PACE Northeast Michigan and this project will have an immense impact on our community and will be a wonderful addition to Alpena’s south corridor.”

“This local pledge of support means the world for the new Program of All-inclusive Care for the Elderly (PACE) being developed in Alpena,” said Jeff Meden, executive director of PACE Northeast Michigan. “PACE Northeast Michigan sincerely thanks Alpena Community Credit Union for this generous award. Even more notable is Andrew Augustyn’s efforts for PACE Northeast Michigan to be considered for the Community Multiplier Member Match Program with FHLBank Indianapolis. These grant dollars will go a long way to help PACE NEMI serve the seniors of Northeast Michigan who choose to enroll in our program once we are operational.”
