Sarazin and Veasy exchange vows

Amanda and David Veasy

On the afternoon of Aug. 28, 2020 Amanda Lynn Sarazin and David Allan Veasy took the vows of marriage at the Old Train Depot in the National Mississippi River Museum & Aquarium. Salvation Army chaplains Capt. Matthew Phelps and Capt. Emily Phelps officiated, with many friends and family attending.

Their bridal party consisted of Maid of Honor Sara Montgomery and Best Man Joe Zwack; Bridesmaids Shay Kandis, Brittany Geisler, Melanie Their, Jodi Patterson, Krista Viertel, Nicole Raber and Lianna Kruttlin; Groomsmen Josh Aube, Zane Stenz, Chase Weinkauf, Wilbur Winkle, Jeff Pluemer, Abe Raber and Michael Montgomery; Junior Bridesmaid Riley Kandis and Junior Groomsman Harley Raber; Flower Girl Addisyn Raber, and Ring Bearer Roman Raber.

Later that evening a dinner and reception followed at the Diamond Jo Casino conference room with plenty of food, dancing and lots of fun. During this unusual year, the couple chose personalized hand sanitizers, masks and individual pens for the guest book as party favors for their guests.

The couple was sent off with a sparkler drawbridge formed by the bridal party for a honeymoon in Aruba.

The bride is the daughter of Robert and Ellen Sarazin who reside in Dubuque, Iowa. She is a Registered Nurse at Mercy One Hospital and is an instructor at Northeastern Iowa Community College, both in Dubuque.

The groom is the son of David and Tammy Veasy who reside in Ossineke. He is an Engineering Supervisor for John Deere Construction and Forestry in Dubuque.
