John and Sonie Nethercut

Gordon and Vernie Nethercut of Alpena are pleased to announce the marriage of their son, John Nethercut, to Sonie Hott.

John is employed as the executive director of the Public Justice Center in Baltimore, Maryland. Sonie is employed at Dental Arts of Hedgesville, Hedgesville, West Virginia.

The 5 p.m. outdoor ceremony took place with a backdrop of white hydrangeas on Saturday, August 8, 2020, at the home of the groom’s parents in Alpena, Michigan.

The ceremony was officiated by the groom’s brother, Bill Nethercut.

Via Zoom, the groom’s son, Justin Nethercut, served as best man. Also via Zoom, Elizabeth Hott, daughter of the bride, served as maid of honor and Audrey Hott, granddaughter of the bride, served as flower girl.

Family attended the ceremony via Zoom from Maryland, West Virginia, New York and Connecticut.

The couple will be planning their honeymoon following the pandemic.
