ALPENA — There will be a used book sale hosted by the MyMichigan volunteers on Friday from 8 a.m. until 1 p.m. In the lobby of the hospital. The volunteers are also accepting gently-used hard and soft cover novels, kids books, and cookbooks. Textbooks or magazines will not be accepted. Books for the sale can be dropped off in the lobby behind the registration desk.
ALPENA — The Grace Episcopal Church will have its monthly soup and sandwich dinner on Friday from 4 p.m. until 6 p.m. As usual, there will be assorted soups and at least one meatless soup. The church will also have grilled cheese, ground bologna, egg salad, and ham sandwiches. There will also be a delicious assortment of homemade desserts. The cost of the meal is by donation.
