ALPENA — The Optimist Club of Alpena’s annual Rubber Duckie Race on the Fourth of July was once again a huge success.

The event, which launches 1,000 rubber ducks off the Ninth Street Bridge into the Thunder Bay River and they “swim” downstream. The lucky duck that crosses the finish line first is the winner.

This year, Tammy Deleski, who had duck number 664, was the winner and she was kind enough to donate a portion of her winnings back to the Optimist Club.

The Optimist Club of Alpena also thanks everyone who participated in the event for their ongoing support.
