Michigan History Day Film Festival Tuesday, July 7, 2026 ACC Madeline Briggs Center 143 from noon until 1 p.m.
Michigan students in 3-12th grades worked all year to complete original historical research and present their findings at regional, state, and national contests. Celebrate their incredible achievements by joining us for a Michigan History Day® documentary film festival showcasing student projects! This is a Historical Society of Michigan History Hounds Virtual Lecture offered via Zoom at Madeline Briggs
Huron Pines: Proposed Misery Bay Nature Preserve on Tuesday, July 7, 2026 ACC Madeline Briggs Center 140 from 2 p.m. until 4 p.m.
Join Huron Pines as we share about our current efforts to protect a breathtaking 41-acre parcel with 8,000 feet of Lake Huron frontage on the northern edge of Misery Bay. Learn about the rare mosaic of coastal habitats such as Great Lakes marsh, coastal fens and rich conifer swamps as well as the rare plant life that thrive only in the Great Lakes region. Then, take a short drive with us to the future nature preserve to experience this beautiful and magnificent landscape with a guided tour from our expert staff.
Huron Pines is a nonprofit conservation organization dedicated to protecting Northern Michigan’s natural resources for the benefit of wildlife, water quality and people. Since 1973, we have worked alongside community and conservation partners across Northeast Michigan to achieve lasting results. This legacy of conservation does more than benefit the environment — it improves quality of life, strengthens local economies and fosters deep pride in the places we call home.
On July 9, from 1:30 p.m. until 2:30 p.m. at ACC Granum Theatre ALL will host Adventures in Music: Jennifer Elowsky-Fox Classical Pianist.
