ALPENA — Step back in time on Saturday and experience history firsthand.
Tall ships have navigated the Great Lakes for all of America’s 250 years, moving people, goods, and ideas that shaped our nation. Now, it’s your turn to step onto a piece of living history.
The Lettie G. Howard, a historic, two-masted schooner, is sailing into Alpena for one exclusive weekend. Whether you want to channel your inner sailor or just relax on the water, this is an unforgettable maritime adventure for all ages.
“Alpena is a perfect port for tall ships. Being in the heart of the Thunder Bay National Marine Sanctuary near the Great Lakes Maritime Heritage Center allows our students and trainees to connect with Great Lakes history both on and off the ship, said Captain Griffin Hayes.
