ALPENA –Alpena Alcona Area Credit Union (AAACU) recently donated $6,000 to the Alpena Plaza Pool as a part of their ongoing fundraising efforts to provide updates to the facilities. $5,000 of the donation will go towards one of the new diving blocks and the other $1,000 will support the youth water safety program, “Safety, Splash, Swim!”

AAACU is proud to support the Alpena Plaza Pool and its efforts to improve their facilities and provide a space for community members to have fun, learn water safety, exercise and more.

This donation is made possible by the credit union’s Community Investment Fund. These funds are comprised of dollars donated back into our communities thanks to credit union members who choose to receive their monthly statements electronically. The credit union pledges to donate $9.00 annually for each of these e- statements accounts. In 2026, AAACU will donate up to $320,406.00 back into the communities they serve.
