Alpena — Alpena Alcona Area Credit Union (AAACU) recently donated $250 to the Northeast Michigan Community Service Agency’s (NEMSCA) Shoe Palooza event. This event is a meaningful initiative that provides new shoes to students in our community from preschool through fifth grade. All funds raised go to assist in the shopping for and distribution of new shoes to be distributed to students at the beginning of the school year. AAACU is proud to support critical initiatives like this one that provides students with the tools they need to succeed and focus on their studies.This donation is made possible by the credit union’s Community Investment Fund. These funds are comprised of dollars donated back into our communities thanks to credit union members who choose to receive their monthly statements electronically. The credit union pledges to donate $9.00 annually for each of these e-statements accounts. In 2026, AAACU will donate up to $320,406.00 back into the communities they serve. AAACU is a state-chartered credit union with membership eligibility open to any resident in the state of Michigan. As of April 30, 2026, AAACU provides service to 49,762 members with total assets equal to $967,128,797.
