PRESQUE ISLE – The Presque Isle Township Museum Society has officially opened submissions for its Annual Presque Isle Lighthouses Photo Contest. Photographers of all ages and skill levels–from seasoned professionals and amateur hobbyists to casual smartphone users–are invited to capture and share the historic magic of the region’s iconic landmarks.
Participants may submit both newly taken photographs and archived shots, provided they feature either the New Presque Isle Lighthouse or the Old Presque Isle Lighthouse. The contest aims to showcase diverse perspectives of these historic structures, whether framed by a dramatic sunrise, shrouded in morning fog, or captured from a unique architectural angle.
The final deadline for all submissions is 11:59 pm EST on Sept 7.
Winners in each division, Old Presque Isle Lighthouse and New Presque Isle Lighthouse, will be featured on the Museum Society’s website and social media. Additionally, the first-place juried winners in both divisions will receive a high-quality physical print of their winning photograph, graciously donated by B.B. Wolf – Fine Art Photography.
“We want to see how visitors and locals alike view these historic landmarks,” said the contest organizers. “Whether it’s a planned landscape shot or a lucky, candid smartphone moment, every perspective celebrates the history and beauty of Presque Isle’s historic treasures.”
The contest is open to all ages, and there is no fee to enter. For the official rules and submission guidelines, visit the official website at www.presqueislelighthouses.org.
