ROGERS CITY — The Culinary Spice Club program launched last year is a tremendous hit for the Presque Isle District Library.

Every month, the number of people participating continues to grow while the culinary experiences of spices continue to expand. Stop by the library in Rogers City this month to pick up a new selection of spices. If you’ve created your own recipes using these spices, please share with us. We’re curious on how you use these spices.

Community Conversation 2026, in collaboration with Zonta Club of Rogers City Area and the Presque Isle District Library, presents The International Affairs Forum (IAF) based at Northwestern Michigan College. IAF is hosting a live stream forum discussion at the Rogers City Library, Constance Jordan Room on April 15, with light refreshments starting at 6 p.m. and program at 7 p.m.

IAF will host Frank Bibeau, Tribal Attorney and Director of the Tribal Rights of Nature Program, “Rights of Nature: Global Movement, Local Values”.

The event is free to the public. Join us for a pre-program reception at 6 p.m. with light appetizers and beverages in the Constance Jordan room. The live-stream program begins promptly at 7 p.m. No pre-registration is required and the event is free to the public.

The Presque Isle District Library was awarded full funding from the Community Foundation of Northeast Michigan for $5,000 to support the “2026 Northeast Exposure from Blues to Shakespeare” at the historic Rogers Theater. Additional funding support is from the Friends of the Rogers City Library.

As the center for arts and cultural programming in northeast Michigan, the Rogers Theater is the ideal venue to host this season’s live music as we lead off with The Transit Brothers performing Huey Lewis and the News Experience on August 7, followed by The Blues Brothers Experience on August 8. Both performances start at 7:30 p.m. and tickets are $10 per person at the box office.

They will be followed by a special engagement of the Starling Shakespeare Company on August 20 at 7:30 p.m. performing, “The Tempest”. The Starling Shakespeare Company is taking a day off from their summer residency on Mackinac Island to perform Shakespeare in Rogers City at the historic Rogers Theater.
