ALPENA — The first instalment of Friends Together’s “Learn with Friends” series this month will feature “Curious about Cannabis” with Kevin Currier from Neighborhood Provisions on April 14 from 4:30 p.m. until 6 p.m.

Currier will be presenting on medical uses for Cannabidiol (CBD), which is an active ingredient in cannabis that is derived from the hemp plant.

Currier will explain how these products work within the body. There will be a question and answer session to follow.

The Learn with Friends series is held at Friends Together on the second Tuesday of each month and is always free to attend for anyone in the community. A reservation is required due to limited space. Call 989-356-3231. To register or for more information.

The second instalment is “Crush the Habit: Medical Hypnosis for Tobacco Cessation”. This is being held at the APlex in the downstairs conference room on April 28. Registration is required and there is a minimum donation of $50 suggested as this is a fundraiser for Friends Together.
