Sunrise Side scholarship program fundraiser
LINCOLN – On Saturday, the 4th Annual Miss Sunrise Side Scholarship Program fundraiser will be held at the Sunrise Side Community Center at 807 N. Barlow Rd in Lincoln.
Miss Sunrise Side Lauren Mroczek, and Miss Sunrise Side Teen Alana Kowalski, will be attending, graciously representing our Sunrise Side.
These two young women have done so much in the community, Event Stylist Josie Schmidt said in an email. In June they will be competing for the Miss Michigan and Miss Michigan Teen title in Muskegon.
Let’s all wish them both the best on the endeavor.
The event will begin at 9 a.m. with a one hour cardio drumming class and everyone is welcome to join in on the fun.
After the class, there will be a raffle which will consist of many different baskets, home-made goods, cardio drumming equipment, and much more.
There will also be snacks after the raffle.
Attendees are encouraged to speak to these two pageant representatives, and grab a photo with them.
Equipment is available for those who do not have their own. If you know that you will be attending please contact Josie, Event Stylist at 989-335-0094 so she has an idea of how many sets of equipment she will need to set up.
Josie Agnello-Schmidt, coach and instructor of East Coast Fitness and Drumming and Katie Smith, coach and instructor of Tawas, Oscoda Cardio Drumming and Fitness, will be leading the class with great music, cool moves, and some of the most dedicated drummers from their classes.
Between Josie and Katie they have a total of seven years of instruction experience. People do not have to participate in the cardio drum and are welcome to come and watch and support Lauren and Alana.
There is a minimum donation of $5.
All proceeds will be donated to the American Heart Association. The American Heart Association’s Go Red for Women movement is the Miss America’s Scholarship Foundation’s national health thought leader. This event is to promote living a heart-health life!
