ALPENA — The Tuskegee Airmen Presentation slated for Wednesday at the Alpena County Library has been canceled and rescheduled for March 31 from 6 p.m. until 7 p.m.
The library and Edith Angell Cook Special Collections Department is honored to host State Maritime Archaeologist Wayne R. Lusardi and the story of Tuskegee Airman Lt. Frank H. Moody, who was killed on April 11, 1944, when his Bell P-39Q Airacobra crashed into lower Lake Huron. Our host, Lusardi, has led expeditions to the site for over a decade and will share the history of World War II training over the Great Lakes, the details of the accident, and the ongoing work to preserve this important piece of history while honoring the courage and sacrifice of the Tuskegee Airmen.
The library made the announcement in a press release to The News on Friday.
