Alpena Alcona Area Credit Union scholarship closes March 31
Alpena — There are less than 2 weeks left to apply for Alpena Alcona Area Credit Union’s scholarship program. Each year, Alpena Alcona Area Credit Union (AAACU) awards at least 10 $1000 scholarships to students in Northeast Michigan.
Last year, the credit union awarded 25 graduating seniors the scholarship to be used towards full-time college or another continuing education program after high school graduation.
This year, the scholarship is open to all students in the State of Michigan, provided they meet the other requirements.
To qualify for the scholarship, an applicant must meet the following requirements:
1. Be a graduating senior or 13th Year/Early College Program graduate.
2. Be a resident of the State of Michigan.
3. Enroll in a full-time college or other continuing education program after high school graduation.
4. Applicants must become an AAACU member before a scholarship is disbursed.
The applicant must also provide the following documentation:
1. Provide two personal examples of how financial literacy has impacted you in complete essay
format (one essay with an introduction, body and conclusion). Minimum of 400 words, written
in your own words. No use of Artificial Intelligence allowed
2. A copy of your high school transcript
3. Two different teacher recommendations
4. One other outside recommendation (employer, church, etc.)
5. Applicants must be an active user of the Zogo financial literacy app through AAACU and have
completed at least 10 modules of their choice. For more information on the app

The application must be completed in its entirety to be considered by AAACU’s Scholarship Committee.
All AAACU scholarships are due on March 31, 2026 at 11:59 PM. To apply, visit:
