ALCONA COUNTY — Alcona Community Schools are participating in a National “Close Up Program” to send high school students to Washington D.C. for an incredible civics program on the workings of Capitol Hill. Local businesses participated in a funding drive to collect money with the Alcona County Democratic Party, so that five students could attend this exceptional opportunity. The students leave for D.C. in early June, so the ACDP drive for contributions continues with a start of over $1,300.
