ALPENA — The Rotary Club of Alpena and contributions from individuals and businesses have stocked the “Kindness Closet” with basic needs, such as underclothes, socks, toothbrushes, body wash, hairbrushes, water bottles, dial-a-ride passes, and other children’s essentials.
The goal is to remove barriers to learning by providing items for those who are experiencing hardships like neglect, homelessness, abuse.
School success is designed to work with at-risk students and to get learning back on track. Alpena Public Schools has about 10% of the student population in this situation. It takes all of us to help our youth be successful in school.
