Kids in the Kitchen at Art in the Loft

ALPENA – Art in the Loft will host Kids in the Kitchen on Thursday. The students will enjoy multiple colorful and creative hands-on culinary experiences, all while learning skills they can share with their family and friends.

Inspired by the famous TV show on the Food Network, and under the guidance and help of our in-house nutritionists and culinary educator Jess Krawczak, Art in the Loft is improvising with creativity, “Chopped” style. This time, in the form of baking.

Kids love mystery and playing with their food, so organizers are encouraging uniqueness and stepping out of their comfort zone while practicing kitchen safety and how to clean as they go. Students will start class off with a build-your-own style lunch to fill their bellies before jumping into all of that creativity.

From savory to sweet, students will team up, collaborate, and get creative. Making unique dishes out of our mystery-basket ingredients. Preparing kiddos for real life by teaching young inspiring chefs how to work with what’s available, what’s fresh and in season at the time, quick thinking and adaptability.

After students have hand crafted their unique dishes, we’ll have a couple of fun “judges” ready to sample, ask questions, and present awards.

So leave the creativity & cleanup to us as your inspiring chefs enjoy a fun and creative class designed for kiddos who love to cook!

To support Art in the Loft and to help keep class experiences affordable, supply expenses for this workshop were graciously donated by the “Sip Sisters” a dry mobile bartending service available for all of your special occasion needs.

The cost of the event is $35 per student and participants must be 9 years old or older.
