Busy schedule for Alpena Ice Fest

On Saturday, the Alpena Ice Festival will be held at Mich-e-ke-wis Park from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

At 4:30 p.m. there will be a dedication for the new Thunder Bay Arts Council sculpture at Culligan Plaza with free hot chocolate and smores.

The evening will culminate with the Fire and ICE fire on River Street at 6:30 p.m., sponsored by Wolverine Credit Union.

There will be activities for all ages, including a snowhill, a bonfire with smores, horse and wagon rides at Mich-e-ke-wis, and the afternoon/evening ice bar at Rusty Petunias. There will also be “Chipping for Gift Cards” at Mangos.

Student artwork turned sculptures will be at Mich-e-ke-wis Park and also throughout downtown. Local businesses will have sculptures outside their business throughout the downtown for people to enjoy and take photos with.
