Alcona library offering free events

HARRISVILLE- The Alcona County Library will host a pair of events during the first week of March that will be educational for adults and adults.
From learning more about a local invasive species to arts and crafts for children, the events are an opportunity to connect with the local library.
OAK WILT: Spot it – Test it – Stop it
Attendees will learn how to identify, test for, and prevent Oak Wilt at the Harrisville Branch of the Alcona County Library on March 4 6 p.m.
Presented by the United States Forest Service, Huron Shores Ranger District Forester Eric Brandon will provide practical information to help protect Michigan’s oak trees. This event is free and open to the public. Call 989-724-6796 for more information.
Spring Fling at the Alcona County Library
The Harrisville branch of the Alcona County Library (will host its annual Spring Fling on March 7 from noon until 1:30 p.m.
Children ages zero through 13 years old are invited to enjoy cookie decorating, spring crafts, and a festive photo zone. This free event is open to the public. For more information, call 989-724-6796.
