The members of Delta Kappa Gamma, Alpha Xi Chapter, gathered at the Besser Museum for Northeast Michigan on Dec. 2 for their Christmas meeting.
Each member brought a gift or monetary donation for Hope Shores Alliance, an agency the group supports each holiday season. Gifts were placed around some of the beautifully decorated trees in the room.
During dinner, club members were entertained by a trombone trio, Preston Dziesinski, Briley Dingman and Levi Behnke, students of Brad Beyer at Thunder Bay Junior High School.
Our business meeting included an announcement regarding the applications received for our Grant-in-Aide award. Two applicants will each receive $250 to purchase materials for their classrooms. These recipients will be invited to attend a future meeting to receive their award.
The agenda also included an update on our support of activities at the museum and it was announced that $655 was collected to support Hope Shores Alliance.
The meeting concluded with the singing of Christmas carols.
The group’s next meeting will be held at noon on Jan. 17 at the First Presbyterian Church in Alpena.
