Poetics Lab and Fireside Theatrics are gearing up for several events and are asking the pubic to attend to help support local arts and entertainment.

First, Poetics Lab will host its monthly open mic at PIF Cider at 6:30 p.m. on Dec. 20.

The large event by Fireside Theatrics should be popular with people who enjoy live theater and especially with those who are fans of the Wizard of Oz.

From Jan. 23-25, Fireside will host “Dinner in Oz” at Art in the Loft in Alpena. The production is described as an immersive Oz experience with some of your favorite characters like you never have before. Besides the show, there will also be a five-course meal and three houses of entertainment, including a performance by A Tranquil Trauma.

The shows begin at 6:30 p.m. and tickets to the event are $75 and can be purchased through Art in the Loft. The proceeds from the event benefit Fireside’s future programming.

There are only 60 seats per performance, so make sure to get your tickets early.
