ALPENA — The Alpena Alcona Area Credit Union (AAACU) is proud to announce the return of their 18 Days of Giving tradition.

Each year around the holidays, AAACU selects eighteen organizations across Northeast Michigan to surprise with a $1000 donation to their mission.

This year, the credit union focused on human needs and organizations that provide food, clothing, shelter, and other basic human needs to local communities.

During the eighteen days leading up to Christmas, AAACU presented the following organizations across Northeast Michigan with checks to give back to those in need:

– The Feeding Kids Ministry

– The ACC Student Emergency Fund

– The Alpena High School Pantry

– The Friendship Room of Alpena

This year, AAACU’s 18 Days of Giving focused on groups and organizations that provide individuals and families with access to basic needs and services like food, clothing, shelter and other critical resources.

AAACU’s 18 Days of Giving and grand total of $18,000 donated this holiday season is made possible by our Community Investment Fund. These funds are comprised of money donated back into our communities thanks to credit union members who choose to receive their monthly statements electronically. The credit union pledged to donate $9.00 annually for each of these e-statements accounts and in 2025, AAACU will donate up to $298,600.00 back into the communities they serve
