ALPENA — Mark your calendars for Giving Tuesday next week. Giving Tuesday is a global day of generosity that unites people everywhere in supporting the causes they care about most., often in the communities they live in.

Across Northeast Michigan, more than 120 nonprofit organizations hold charitable funds at the Community Foundation for Northeast Michigan. These funds provide a permanent source of income to help local nonprofits continue their important work in our communities.

This Giving Tuesday, we invite you to join in the power of collective giving. Whether you choose to support one of the many nonprofits with a fund at CFNEM, give directly to a favorite charity, or volunteer, your generosity makes a difference.

While the CFNEM is no longer hosting the Giving Tuesday Northeast Michigan event as it has in the past, Giving Tuesday as a global, national, and local giving movement continues to thrive.

As such, we want to make sure our communities and those who care about this wonderful region can easily support nonprofit organizations during this season of giving.

To make giving simple, we are featuring the nonprofit organizations from across our service area on one page for the two weeks surrounding Giving Tuesday to raise funds for your favorite nonprofits through the Community Foundation, for a donation that is for good, and forever.

Many of our funds are permanent endowments, which means your donation – whether on Giving Tuesday or any time throughout the year – builds a reliable source of income for the nonprofits you care about most to carry out their important missions.
