Community Foundation for Northeast Michigan (CFNEM) Executive Director, Patrick Heraghty, was elected to the board of trustees of the Council of Michigan Foundations (CMF). His six-year term began last month.

The Council of Michigan Foundations is a statewide philanthropy infrastructure organization that leads, strengthens, and supports philanthropy staff and trustees from nearly 300 organizations across Michigan. CMF provides peer convening, education and engagement opportunities, supports the policy leadership of CMF members and brings forward bold and innovative practices – all with equity at the center of their work. The CMF Board of Trustees works to guide their vision and strategy and represent the diversity of our Michigan community of philanthropy.

“I’m honored to have been elected to the CMF Board of Trustees and to represent northeast Michigan as CMF leans further into its leadership role, advancing collaboration, learning, and equity so that voices from every part of Michigan help shape the future of philanthropy,” says Heraghty.

Patrick has served as CFNEM’s Executive Director since March 2017, helping to lead and grow the Foundation in its nine-county region, including three affiliate foundations.
