Grace Lutheran Church will celebrate the life and memory of children that have died during a special candle lighting event on Dec. 14 at 6:30 p.m. at the church on Dunbar Street in Alpena.

There will be inspirational music, readings, candle lighting, a power point presentation, and recitation of each child’s name.

There will also be light refreshments and time for sharing will follow.

Candles will be provided and people are encouraged to personalize and hang an ornament on the church’s Remembrance Tree.

The event is open to anyone who has lost a child of any age and they can bring a picture or special remembrance of your child to display, or wear a shirt with your child’s photo.

Attendees should dress appropriately as the candle lighting portion of the event will be outdoors.
