Alpena library to host lecture about Bath School bombing
The Alpena County Library is hosting a lecture about the tragedy of the Bath School bombing on Nov. 17 from 6 p.m. until 7 p.m.
The George R. and Edith Angell Cook Special Collections Department is hosting historian George Robson for a lecture and a question and answer session on the 1927 Bath School Bombing.
Often overshadowed in history, this was the first high-casualty school violence incident in the United States, long before the tragedies in Columbine.
Robson’s connection to this tragic Michigan event is deeply personal: both of his parents were students at the school and survived the bombing.
