Don MacMaster, president of Alpena Community College, was the guest speaker at this week’s Exchange Club of Alpena weekly meeting.

MacMaster provided a detailed update on the Van Lare Hall renovation project and upgrades to the nursing program.

Just like many old buildings in Alpena, the college is first tackling HVAC, wiring and fire suppression upgrades. Their hope is to have these projects completed this summer before moving on the other building renovations. The college is in their final stages of fundraising to match the $3.35 million capital outlay funding from the State of Michigan.
