Andrew Sumerix and Amanda Dort

Andrew Sumerix and Amanda Dort are excited to announce their engagement.

The future bride is the daughter of Bryan and Lesslee (Trewartha) Dort of Alpena. The future groom is the son of Kendall and Melony (VanWagner) Sumerix of Lachine.

Amanda is a 2013 graduate of Alpena High School and a 2017 graduate of Hope College, where she earned a bachelor’s degree in communication. She is currently the learning technology technician at Alpena Community College.

Andrew is a 2012 graduate of Alpena High School and a 2017 graduate of Central Michigan University, where he earned a bachelor’s Ddegree in mechanical engineering. He is currently self-employed through his agricultural freight business, Rose Creek Farm.

The couple will exchange their vows on August 24, 2019, in Lachine.
