Marvin and Ellen Hopp

Marvin and Ellen Hopp, of Alpena, celebrate their 70th wedding anniversary on July 21.

Marvin and Ellen Grulke were married at St. Michael’s Lutheran Church in Rogers City on July 21, 1951.

After residences in Detroit, Monroe, and Auburn, Michigan, Marvin and Ellen have been living in Alpena since 1968.

They are parents of Deborah Smith (husband Bill, deceased), of Alpena, Susan Harris, and Carol Sudut (husband Tony), of Livonia. Grandchildren include Matt Breazeale (wife Nicole), of Livonia, Brad Smith (wife Kristin), of Rockford, and Jeff Smith (wife Melissa), of Ossineke. Great-grandchildren include Hannah Smith, of Rockford, and William Smith, of Ossineke.

They are also very proud of their many relatives and friends in the Rogers City and Alpena areas and elsewhere.
