HARRISVILLE -- The Alcona County Library has two events lined up this month that community members won't want to miss! Below are the details:
Friends of the Library book sale
It's library book sale time again! Stock up on plenty of good reads for the colder months at the Friends of the Alcona County Library Book Sale Oct. 15, Oct. 16, and Oct. 17, at the Harrisville branch of the Alcona County Library during regular library hours.
This sale features a selection of large print books, with plenty of titles to choose from. Shoppers will also find a variety of fiction and nonfiction, including mysteries, westerns, history, biography, health, self-help, religion and spirituality, travel, cooking, home and crafts, classics, popular authors, children's books, CDs, DVDs, puzzles, and much more. Whether you're looking for your next favorite read, stocking up for winter, or hunting for a bargain, stop in and see what treasures are waiting on the shelves.

NEMAG juried art exhibit winners at the library
The Northeast Michigan Artists Guild invites the public to view its 2026 "Creative Eye" exhibit at the Harrisville branch of the Alcona County Library.
"Creative Eye" is NEMAG's annual members-only juried art show. This year's juror was Valerie Allen. She selected Cheryl VanderLaan's "Undaunted" for first place, Dave VanderLinde's "Cherry and Burl Plant Stand" for second place, and Karen Cracchiolo's "Pictured Rocks" for third place. Honorable mentions were awarded to Karen Jonker for "Blue Tom," Dave VanderLinde for "Poppies," Judy St. John for "Storm Clouds Over Amarillo," Marianne Ochalek for "Sunflowers in Blue," Kate Sautter for "Superior Sunrise," and Lynn Paquette for "Wonky Flowers in Wonky Vase."
