ALPENA -- The League of Women Voters of Northeast Michigan invites the public to a candidate “Meet & Greet” event on Thursday from 6 to 7 p.m. The forum will take place in Room CTR 106 at Alpena Community College.
The event offers community members an opportunity to engage directly with Alpena Community College (ACC) Board of Trustees candidates ahead of the upcoming Nov. 3 midterm election, according to a League of Women Voters press release on Friday.
Three candidates are competing for two open positions on the ACC Board of Trustees, both carrying a six-year term beginning Jan. 1, 2027. Featured candidates include: Florence Stibitz (incumbent), Thomas Townsend (incumbent), and Mark Grunder (challenger).
The event will feature an informal, station-based format, according to the release. Each candidate will be seated at an individual table, allowing attendees to move freely around the room, introduce themselves, and ask questions one-on-one.
All community members are encouraged to attend to learn more about the candidates’ platforms, share their feedback, and participate actively in the local election process.
