ALPENA -- On Friday, 661 pieces of trash were removed by the Youth Volunteer Corps and Boys and Girls Club members, with help from Great Lakes Great Responsibility (GLGR). GLGR is a local non-profit that is committed to preserving the Great Lakes and its ecosystems.
The event on Friday was part of a summer-long series of community clean-ups. The goal is to remove over 4,000 pieces by the end of the summer.
