ALPENA — A healing service will be held at New Life Christian Fellowship in Alpena on Sunday durring the 10 a.m. worship service. Guest minister, Lyle Dorr, will teach from the Bible on healing, and pray for the sick.

Dorr was born and raised in Alpena. He holds a master’s degree in counseling and personnel from Western Michigan University and graduated from Rhema Bible Training College in 1987. Dorr’s career involved working in child welfare, and he capped off his secular service with six years of grant writing for a tribal government in Western Michigan.

For the past 25 years, Dorr has been involved in healing ministry. He transitioned to full-time ministry in May 2023 and became ordained, serving both stateside and abroad, primarily in Chile.
