ALPENA — First United Methodist Church announced it is hosting Community Church in the Park, and this year marks the annual event’s 30th anniversary. These park services take place at the Band Shell in Alpena every Sunday in July and August at 8:30 a.m.

Services are cancelled to accommodate for inclement weather.

Sunday’s speaker is Rev. Laura Hoffman from the Congregational United Church of Christ. Special music will be provided by the Community Flash Choir, directed by Kat Tomaszewski.

The First United Methodist Church encourages all those interested in performing with the choir to arrive at 8 a.m to practice two songs together and perform them during the service.
