ALCONA — The Alcona County Library has a roster of events fun for the entire family coming up.

Storycraft Saturdays: Painted book edges

Give a book a new look during a painted book edges workshop at the Harrisville branch of the Alcona County Library on Saturday, July 25, at 11 a.m. Participants ages 15 and older will use acrylic paint to decorate the edges of a book. Acrylic markers will also be available for freehand designs. Supplies will be provided, or participants may bring their own book. Space is limited. Call 989-724-6796 to register. This program is funded by a grant from the Community Foundation for Northeast Michigan.

Meet author Abigail Adams

Join young author Abigail Adams for an afternoon of woodland-themed creativity at the Harrisville branch of the Alcona County Library on Thursday, July 30, at 2 p.m. Adams will discuss her fantasy series, The Fernshade Chronicles, and sign copies of her books, which will be available for purchase. Visitors can also make collaged bookmarks, color woodland scenes, and decorate cookies with watercolor paints while supplies last. Book-themed stickers and other items will be available. This free event is open to everyone.
